Preview: Opening Ceremony x adidas Originals 2013 AutumnWinter Footwear Collection

by James20. June 2013 12:00

For Opening Ceremony‘s third season of collaborations with adidas Originals, the New York retailer looked to the world of rock climbing for inspiration. Consisting of two models, this season’s offerings combine muted, earthy colors with technical-leaning silhouettes. First up is the OC ENFR Rock, a shoe which uses the adidas Originals Enforcer as a base but, thanks to the side cut-outs and removable neoprene sock, has Opening Ceremony written all over it. The second style, dubbed the OC Rock Mocc more readily calls to mind climbing shoes thanks to its low cut, slip-on construction and rope laces anchored to the upper. Both models will be available to order this July. Stay tuned to our face book for further updates about this release.

Restaurants - Rogano, Glasgow

by Phylis20. June 2013 11:00

One of Glasgow's oldest restaurants – the art deco interior dates from 1935, when it was fitted out in homage to the Clyde-built Queen Mary – it has an unparalleled reputation for opulence, one that still ensures it's a destination for anyone with a hankering for the good old days. For nearly seven decades, this plush, opulent seafood restaurant has been pleasing the city’s fine diners with unparalleled style and quality.

Freja Beha For Saint Laurent

by Nicola20. June 2013 10:32

I'm so looking forward to seeing the new marketing shots for Saint Laurent featuring Freja Beha. After Edie Campbell and Julia Nobis, Danish fashion model Freja Beha is now posing for Saint Laurent's next advertising campaign, designed and photographed by the designer himself, Hedi Slimane. The shots are artistically portrayed in black and white, with a backdrop of the fashion house's newest Parisian boutique.

The images echo Slimane's campaign images that featured Saskai De Brauw as a boy, to present his new menswear collection. For this campaign Freja wears leather pants and a polka-dot shirt, alongside a mannishly-cut suit and some key signature bags and footwear from the Pre Autumn Winter collection.

An Introduction To Zuhair Murad

by Natalie19. June 2013 16:11

Lebanese designer Zuhair Murad is cherished for his glamorous show stopping creations; until recently he was a well kept red carpet secret. Think seductive and sexy, Murad is for the woman who demands the spotlight "I love to see a women's curves", he said. His celebrity fans include Kirsten Stewart who famously wore Zuhair Murad to her first public appearance in Toronto at the premiere of 'On The Road' then again at the Twilight premiere after being reunited with Robert Pattinson. In my opinion she has never looked better, this daring new side that she channeled was a coming of age for the starlet. The revealing outfit featured a delicate embroidered top with an open back and fully sequinned trousers with lace panels, finishing her look with killer Louboutin heels and wavy tresses.

Jennifer Lopez, at the Golden Globes, was the ideal platform for the peacock piece of this 'golden age' collection. J-Lo sizzled in this delicate lace embroidered gown with tonal accessories and make up keeping the dress centre stage.

My personal favourite from this collection is the stunning one shoulder embellished gown, as worn by Amaia Salamanca, this bead covered creation with it's high front split is certainly not for the faint hearted.

Get red carpet ready with an opulent after dark option that will last you a lifetime!

by Phylis19. June 2013 14:28

The Blythswood Square Hotel offers a luxury stay right in the heart of the city with a 5 star spa. The wonderful rooms are complimented by the excellent food and a great choice of cocktails. Millions of pounds have been invested in transforming the former Royal Scottish Automobile Club building into a splendid boutique hotel and spa where they promise to be kind to mind, body, soul and the environment.  The spectacular sandstone building, constructed in the early years of Queen Victoria’s reign, has been completely transformed, well, recycled and now re-used an eco-hotel.
